This weekend marks the 2nd weekend of the pilot scheme for Safe Square: Sheffield, a safe space for you if you need assistance or assurance on your night out.
It’s been a really positive start to our pilot scheme where we’ve met some truly incredible people. It’s been extremely rewarding hearing how excited people are for something like this to become part of the culture of Sheffield’s Nighttime Economy.
We’ve had quite a few people pop down to meet with our amazing medical team, have a chat with the security team and those that wanted a quick debrief with the incredible Street Pastors, the squad from 1625 and the team we’ve got at Safe Square.
If you need some medical assistance, some help charging your phone to get home safely, a meeting point in case you are separated from your friends or just feeling a bit vulnerable and want a chat the team is here all throughout December, Friday & Saturday 10pm-5am and also NYE 10pm-5am.
Also a huge shout out to the South Yorkshire Violence Reduction Unit who are funding everything for the pilot scheme; Leopold Square for hosting us, South Yorkshire police for having our back and the incredible hospitality industry we have in Sheffield for supporting the scheme.
