Let’s celebrate John Ruskin, born #onthisday 1819 🍃 Here’s Simon Seligman from @ruskintoday to tell us how Ruskin established his collection in Sheffield to help people find inspiration in art and nature, 150 years ago. Today, Ruskin’s gift to the city lives on at the Millennium Gallery. The latest exhibition, Storm-Cloud reflects on John Ruskin’s 1884 lecture, Storm-Cloud, which was one of the first to discuss climate change and make a link to industrial pollution. Storm-Cloud brings together work from the Guild of St George’s Ruskin Collection curated by young people, video work by Jake Goodall and research by the University of Sheffield to explore the legacy of Ruskin’s groundbreaking observations. #sheffieldmuseums #letscreate #johnruskin @visitsheffield

🎨 Calling Sheffield schools in S5, S35 & S36! 🎨 We’re launching Pick a Picture — a brand-new pilot project giving one primary and one secondary school from the north of the city the chance to have an artwork from Sheffield's collection on display in their school for a whole academic year! 🤩 BAFTA-award-winning TV presenter George Webster popped into The Millennium Gallery for a special look at the ArtWorks Together International 2026 exhibition! Thank you for coming George, we can’t wait to find out which artworks you’ve chosen as winners when they’re announced on 12 Feb 🤫 In the meantime, ArtWorks Together is an international festival based in Sheffield offering adult artists who have a learning disability, are autistic, or both, the opportunity to showcase their talents. The exhibition features shortlisted works by 70 artists from 21 countries, highlighting the breadth and depth of artistic practice by artists who have a learning disability and / or autism.
