We'd just like to say a huge THANK YOU to our Guest of Honour, Maxine Peake, who curated an incredible programme at this year's festival 🥹 Maxine blew us away with a live performance with Sheffield-based band The Eccentronic Research Council, a reading of her play ‘Queens of the Coal Age’, and a talk with filmmaker Paul Sng exploring the representation of working-class voices in the media 💚 Plus, she selected two powerful archival works, The Wanted 18 and Nightcleaners, alongside the world premiere of The Archivist. Thank you so much, Maxine! 📸 Credits: Image 1: James Mulkeen Image 2: James Mulkeen Image 3: James Mulkeen Image 4: David Chang Image 5: David Chang Image 6: David Chang Image 7: David Chang #SheffDocFest2026
🎶 You can be slow or fast, but must get to the shop 🎶 Pop in to the Millennium Gallery shop for glorious gifts for Dad or anyone special this Father’s Day. Top choice is the ‘Classic Football Shirts’ book by Penguin, a love letter to football shirts and fan culture. Just hope Dad doesn’t get too sad about sending his old football shirts to the charity shop, only to realise they’re now the height of fashion 🤫 We love these sauces and rubs from Sheffield favourite, Unit and Bullion Chocolate is also a superb gift. Or how about a Pete Mckee mug for the perfect cuppa? ☕️ How about a workshop ticket - at Kelham Makes: Leatherwork Workshop – Make Your Own Keyring Dad could get crafty and make something beautiful and useful ♥ (booking link in bio)! Best of all: a trip to see the Football Art Prize together 🤗 ⚽ Every purchase in our shops directly supports our work to send visitors of all ages on journeys of discovery that last a lifetime.
