Thank you to everyone who’s been sending in pictures for the ‘McKee Photo Album’. Here is a collection of images similar to Pete’s painting ‘Beach Comber’, it seemed only right to share these with the lovely weather we’ve been having. These pictures represent classic british seaside holidays, an ode to finding the right spot on the beach for a day of sandcastle making. The first image photo in this collection was sent in by Denise who wrote “This photo is shutdown weeks in about 1955, my baby brother Paul balancing on dad’s knee, while dad reads the newspaper and ignores the sand and sea in his brogues, pullover, shirt and tie. On the back of the deck chair is his jacket and sweater. The Sheffield working class at play on their yearly holiday.” Come to the gallery leahsyard to see our display of your McKee Moments and keep sending them in to pete@petemckee.com

When you’re young, summer is all about running wild and messing about on your local field. This field becomes your football pitch and your estate is the stadium, a make do football tournament using jumpers for goal posts. ‘Jumpers for Goalposts’ is another colour from Pete’s emulsion paint colour palette. He uses this colour to depict memorable summer days when kick abouts form life long friendships, or even lead to an iconic football career. Do you have any jumpers for goal posts memories?
