*** SALSA IN THE SQUARE – SUNDAY 25 MAY*** 📣📣📣 For this, the 2nd Salsa in the Square of 2025, it was difficult to know what to do for the best with the ever-changing weather forecast and expected rain etc but we wanted to try to keep the show outside and gave it a go. Unfortunately, the rain got the better of us this time around (in the end) but not without a fight! It was incredibly tough to make the decision to put a stop to our outdoor fiesta halfway through the evening, but safety was our primary concern. We were humbled by the support given by Salsa in the Square fans, members of the public, all trying our best to keep the show going and determination of all the dancers that stuck it out in the rain! The rain may have dampened the square, but it didn’t dampen your spirits! We want to thank everyone that came and to our class acts and team that shone through regardless – “what a fantastic community we have!” A MASSIVE MUCHAS GRACIAS to everyone and special mentions include: Our co-hosts and compere the wonderful RICHARD CHONGTHAM (RCDANCE) & the lovely DJ ANNA DE ORTE hard work and energy behind the scenes! RAICES CUBANA our fantastic 6-piece Latin band – we only managed to stage the first of their sets but as always, they are truly a class act! Our fab 5 DJs, ANNA, ROLY, EBO, SABROSO and BRITANICO who together with our two fabulous musicians ARMANDO MURILLO (Congas) & KENT ROACH (Sax) kept the Barrio Latino party going inside all night long! TUDOR & EIRINI for their brilliant Bachata show and LAURA MAZLUM for her amazing Belly Dance display (starting in the sunshine and finishing off in the rain!!) Our amazing CUBANA STAFF for all their hard work, high energy and positive vibes in what was an extremely long but thoroughly enjoyable fiesta. RYAN TAYLOR for his hard work, technical/musical mastery and for being super flexible/accommodating, working around the rain interruptions The whole SECURITY TEAM for looking after everyone, and repeatedly taking the dance floor covers off and putting them back on throughout the evening enabling us to dance safely and deliver the knockout shows and dancing!
