Music crosses boundaries and borders, connecting us to one another and other communities across time and space. East Beat is a project that explores musical threads from East & South East Asia and the diasporas.
In this workshop artist, Cường Minh Bá Phạm, and linguist, Hoa Le, will introduce participants to a rich, and sometimes forgotten era of Vietnamese music from the 1950’s and 60’s. Songs from this time tell stories of war, love, and the impact of war on love.

As a continuation of our i-Now series we'll be hosting a series of FREE CREATIVE WORKSHOPS throughout January and February. The workshops will be run in a collaboration with local creative practicioners and arts organisations and are funded by the Arts Council.
