MEET THE COMPOSERS: RICHARD SABEY
Richard has been working in community music since 1996, and obtained an MA in Community Music from the University of York in 1998. He has run numerous workshops, courses and projects with people of all ages. These have included: song-writing, composing, music production and mass community ensembles. He has set up, secured funding for and delivered many projects through his own arts company, and has also work with organisations, including Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, Artforms Leeds,
the University of York and numerous schools.
He has composed music for a variety of projects including; a community play; live music for theatre-in-education; music to accompany issue-based interactive drama DVDs. Since 2011 he has also run the Woolpack Music Studios in the centre of Otley, working with community groups and young people.
