Symmetries in Sound is a celebration of musical games and mirrors. Playing with patterns and reflections, in Mozart's Der Spiegel, two violinists read a page of music in opposite directions, and in Pärt’s Spiegel im Spiegel a melodic line is mirrored. Debussy’s Reflets dans l’eau shimmers like water, and Bartók’s String Quartet No.4 is a thrilling piece, shaped as a perfect arch.
