To round things out, we wanted to highlight the ripple effect of how creativity can change lives, something in which we are deeply passionate about for WeCompose.
Over a decade ago, Georgia Denham first discovered composing when Music in the Round visited her school. She didn’t own an instrument, but she’d race to the music room every break to write songs on the computer. Hearing her own music performed for the first time was the moment, the one that made her believe she could be a composer.
Today, Georgia is a professional composer, studying for a PhD at Cambridge, and part of WeCompose’s first cohort of composers.
Her story is a reminder that creativity changes lives and that giving every child access to composition can spark a future they never knew was possible.
