Today we’re celebrating the young people at the heart of WeCompose, children discovering their confidence, their creativity, and the joy of making music together.
Through WeCompose, pupils work side-by-side with professional musicians to explore sound, develop confidence, and create something completely their own.
Through our new project funded with your help, we’ll be taking workshops with our musicians to primary schools. Pupils will create rhythms, moods and musical ideas that will grow into a brand-new piece performed in the 2026 Sheffield Chamber Music Festival. Your support helps keep live music alive in primary schools.
“We learned about new techniques on string instruments, and got to interact with actual live players. The composing was also fun, and gave us a project to work towards in class. It was my first time hearing strings live.” - Student
