Our new Crucible and Playhouse season for 24-25 begins with Artistic Director Robert Hastie’s final show, Chariots of Fire. Celebrating the 100th anniversary of record-breaking races at the 1924 Paris Olympics, the production is adapted by Mike Bartlett and based on the 1981 film. Sat 6 – Sat 27 Jul 2024.

In a fourth collaboration with Theatre Centre, Dizzy is a fantastical teenage odyssey of grief, love, unexpected heroes and street art. Written by Mohamed-Zain Dada and directed by Theatre Centre’s Artistic Director Rob Watt. Wed 25 Sep – Sat 12 Oct.
Part Western, part True Crime, with a foot-stomping Americana soundtrack, KENREX is co-produced with Aria Entertainment and written by Jack Holden and Ed Stambollouian with music by John Patrick Elliott. Sat 26 Oct – Sat 16 Nov.
At Christmas is Little Shop of Horrors, the killer rock musical with plenty of bite, directed by Amy Hodge. Book and Lyrics by Howard Ashman, music by Alan Menken. Sat 7 Dec 2024 – Sat 18 Jan 2025.
Into 2025, a new co-production with Utopia Theatre Death And The King’s Horseman, is a thought-provoking play set in 1940s Nigeria, written by Wole Soyinka and directed by Mojisola Kareem. Mon 3 – Sat 8 Feb 2025.
Based on Malorie Blackman’s award-winning book Pig Heart Boy is adapted by Winsome Pinnock, directed by Tristan Finn-Aiduenu, and co-produced with Unicorn Theatre and Children’s Theatre Partnership. Thu 27 Feb – Sat 15 Mar 2025.
Passions ignite and illusions are shattered in Tennessee Williams’ Pulitzer Prize-winning play A Streetcar Named Desire, directed by Josh Seymour. Sat 1 – Sat 29 Mar 2025.
Robert’s final season will go on sale to Centre Stage Members at 10am Saturday 16 March and on general sale at 10am Saturday 23 March, with A Streetcar Named Desire going on sale later in the year.
