MEET THE TEAM… Next is our fabulous General Manager, KATE Mitchell! Who Am I? I'm Kate Mitchell and I'm the General Manager here at The Monty. When not nestled behind my PC working on a beloved spreadsheet, I can be found getting all ABBA-ed up as Frida, Production Managing all over the world, running an LGBTQ+ comedy agency with my wonderful partner (@frootcakeuk) or spreading magic as a fairy during Panto. A Fun Fact! I got engaged on Christmas Eve on stage in Cinderella with my partner who was also playing Buttons in the same production as we met doing Panto back in 2016! What I Do Here… I'm a General Manager, which means lots of different things to lots of different organisations, but here it means I turn my hand to whatever is needed; we're a small arts organisation so we all muck in where we can to ensure the future of The Monty. Generally speaking (see what I did there?) I keep an eye on project budgets, maintain and improve the administrative systems of the theatre and make sure everyone is as happy as they can be in work - but I can also be found with my hi-vis supervising Monty on the Move, or supervising workshops for Family Fun Days and also working with our incredible interns and volunteers to make sure they have all the support they need. My Best Monty Memory: When The Fabularium came with their show Reynard the Fox! Gareth from @TheFabularium is an old friend of mine and it was mint to bring together good people, good venues and good work! Plus the show was hilarious, silly, fun and had some very catchy songs. It made my heart full to see so many different people and organisations thriving in the arts! My Favourite Part Of The Monty Team: I'm sure my office mates will tell you I love a brew and a chat!
