Here's the latest update from the NVM Emergency Room Chronicles 🏥 Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing is one of our most popular exhibits and is certainly in constant demand among our visitors. While this is great that the 2010 racing game is still as popular as ever it does mean wear and tear becomes an increasingly more common problem. The steering wheel gets a lot of use and the constant twisting and turning causes damage to the internal wires over time. This wear not only caused issues to the games playability but also caused the item button to become inactive - an integral part of the gameplay! We were able to order one of the replacement parts directly from Sega. The downside to this was it was the last part in stock (we needed 2) and production of said parts has now been discontinued. With hard work, steady hands (and lots of patience!) Gordie was able to replicate the part needed and fixed the machine to it's former glory - and now items can again be used 😁 Maintenance of such machines are essential to our mission of videogame preservation to ensure all generations can experience videogames of the past and experience their significance in videogame history and culture. #NVM #PlayTheMuseum #sonicandsegaallstarsracing #sega #sonic #sonicthehedgehog #sumodigital #dreggman #tails #knuckles #amigo #alexkidd #ryo #banjo #kazooie #arcade #aracdemachine #racing #arcaderacing #supermonkeyball #theholuseofthedead #sambadeamigo #jetsetradio #behindthescenes #gamescollection #repairs #fixingthings #fixit #museum #sheffield
