❓ What do you think of when you see the Nintendo 64 controller ❓ The controller is known for it's unique and quirky design which to this day divides opinion. Designed by Nintendo's R&D3 (Research and Development No.3 Department) team, it was one of the first controllers to incorporate an anolog stick as a main feature. Designed to be held in three different positions, N64 games would utilise parts of the controller for their gameplay mechanics. Interestingly, the controller's design during development was finalised in tandem with development of Super Mario 64. The games developer, Shigeru Miyamoto, would test the controller throughout the game's development. Nintendo later released a version of the N64 controller which is compatible with the Nintendo Switch console. Released in 2021, it coincided with the launch of N64 games on the company's online subscription service. #NVM #PlayTheMuseum #Nintendo #N64 #Nintendo64 #SuperMario #SuperMario64 #controller #peripheral #gamecontroller #gameconsole #videogames #games #gaming #anologstick #collection #museum #sheffield #didyouknow
