The Nintendo Wii was a big hit selling over 100 millions units as it successfully captured casual gamers with it's innovative controls and fun family games.
It was a tough act to follow, as it's successor, the Nintendo Wii U, soon found out. The console sold poorly in comparison and has one of the shortest lifespans for a games console of just five years when it was discontinued in 2017.
Where do you stand on the Wii U?
❓ Did You Know ❓
The longest lifespan for a videogame console actually belongs to the Sega Master System. Originally released in 1985 the console is actually still in production! Nearly 40 years since it's initial release new Master System consoles are still able to be purchased in Brazil!
