❓ Who had (or still has) a Game Boy Printer ❓
This thermal printer accessory released alongside the Game Boy Camera in 1998. Compatible with most Game Boy systems, it used six (yes six!) double AA batteries to run and could print off pictures taken with the Game Boy Camera or specific elements from certain Game Boy games.
Thermal paper refill rolls were still available to purchase from Nintendo until 2007, official rolls are now sought after.
The Game Boy Printer is one of several objects from moments in time depicting the evolution of videogame photography in our Picture This display this October half term.
