This uniform was donated by the family of former Fire Control Officer Evelyn Hirst MBE. In 1985 she became Senior Staff Officer for Bedfordshire; a role usually for operational firefighters. She was the 1st Control Officer in the country to receive a Staff Officer appointment.,
