This month marks 75 years of the NHS! To celebrate, on 22 July The University of Sheffield researchers and colleagues from Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Sheffield Children's Hospital NHS and Charity are running hands-on family activities and demonstrations exploring the past, present and future of health research in the region and beyond.
Meet Sheffield scientists and health care professionals and take part in a whole host of activities, including:
- A mock clinical trial showing how researchers determine if a new treatment will be safe and effective
- A look at how medical equipment works
- A simulation of hearing loss
- A demonstration of how infectious diseases spread with the ‘Vomiting Violet’ mannequin
- And much more!
