The year of the Dragon is roaring into town! Sheffield Lunar Chinese New Year Festival is coming to our city, with events all across the weekend of the 9th-11th February raising money for Sheffield Children’s. The festival champions the diversity of the city with opportunities to celebrate all weekend. In partnership with Sheffield City Council and Bid, this event is not to be missed. The Children’s Hospital Charity will open the festivities with the switch on of their Dragon light display at Sheffield Children’s Hospital. On Saturday, the Peace Gardens will host an array of stalls before a gala takes over the Octagon Centre in the evening. Sunday sees a parade from the town hall to performances in the Peace Gardens with acrobats that have come all the way from China helping to bring in the new year. The festivities will be rounded off with a Charity Auction dinner at local restaurant China Red. For the second year in a row the festival is raising money for Sheffield Children’s, helping to change the lives of children and families from across the UK and beyond.
