As you enter the yellow-walled section of the Colour exhibition, you’ll be greeted by a lion! This lion dance costume has now been retired, after many years of bringing luck and good fortune to Sheffield residents at Chinese New Year celebrations.
Our clever technicians built an armature to fill out the costume, which is why we’ve been able to display the lion looming down at you from atop a cabinet. It looks like it’s about to swoop down and begin its dance!
