📽️ Previously postponed due to the heavy snow in March, we're delighted to offer this rearranged screening and Q&A of the short film A Soft Rebellion in Paradise.
Join us on Friday, 16 June, 3pm - 4pm, at The Millennium Gallery, where we'll be joined by the filmmakers - artist Chloë Brown, producer Jennifer Monks and executive producer Caroline Cooper Charles.
In Sheffield's Paradise Square, an area with a history of protests, this powerful film continues the artist’s body of work comprising subtly subversive acts challenging the historical gender and class-based power dynamics of spaces.
To film A Soft Rebellion in Paradise, 200 women gathered to perform a series of Soft Rebellions, including clapping, being silent and chanting the words of a specially commissioned poem by Geraldine Monk, with sound design and score by musician DIE HEXEN.
