START OVER 6 is on display in New Horizons at the Millennium Gallery and is one of more than 20 paintings, prints and drawings by Bridget Riley in Sheffield’s collection. A leading figure of the Op Art movement in the 1960s, Riley uses pattern and colour to create visual effects.
START OVER 6 is shown alongside Study with White Disks (1964). Produced 50 years apart, these two works allow viewers a glimpse into the ways Riley’s style and interests have remained constant. They also reflect areas where she has experimented, such as the unconventional use of a triangular panel.
