Time for Tea opens in The Sykes Gallery Metalwork Collection at The Millennium Gallery today! 🎉☕ This display highlights an every-day treasure - tea! Teapots have been passed through generations as part of a family’s inheritance, given as gifts and become treasured heirlooms. Beyond the functional purpose, a teapot, cup or mug of tea holds a much deeper meaning of hospitality. Often an accompaniment to grief, happiness, and togetherness. 🤗 Sheffield’s designated metalwork collection recently received two significant donations of Britannia metal objects. This display shows a selection of teapots and containers, alongside other items from Sheffield’s collection and additional loans. The display also includes thoughts on tea from the Xenia women’s group and an interpretation on how tea is taken from artist Lora Krasteva. 🔗 Plan your visit here: https://www.sheffieldmuseums.org.uk/whats-on/time-for-tea/
