🚆 All aboard! It's the modern railway's 200th anniversary and we're looking forward to hosting Polyhymns : Peak Tracks a highlight of Sensoria Festival. Sheffield musical duo Polyhymns take you on a unique sound journey along the Hope Valley train line – from Sheffield to Chinley, in the Peak District – with a quadraphonic soundscape installation of improvised music, field recordings and oral history clips. Created with DYCP funding from the Arts Council ✨ 📅 Thu 2 – Sun 5 Oct 🕚 Played on loop from 11am–3:45pm (Thu, Fri and Sat) and 11am–12:30pm (Sun) 📍 Cadman Room, The Millennium Gallery ⌚Journey time: approx. 41 mins Expect acoustic guitar and piano loops mixed with the sound of birdsong, rivers, football crowds, farmers, commuters and more to capture the people and landscapes of this iconic route. ⭐ “Excellent stuff” – Gideon Coe, BBC 6 Music 🎟️ Free entry, donations welcome.
