Hello, William Morris fans 🤩
Morris's wallpaper designs were radical in their simplicity 🍃 He created depth through flat patterns and embraced the two-dimensionality of the wall’s surface.
These innovations in wallpaper design are the direct ancestor of the abstract patterns of Bauhaus wallpaper, which took these principles to their logical conclusion.
See the images for William Morris examples, 👉 compared to Gunta Stölzl's early, folklore-inspired, design.
