The current exhibition at the Millennium Gallery, Dutch Flower Paintings, features a set of specially commissioned artworks by Sheffield-based artist Kedisha Coakley which explore the relationship between the trade in fruit, flowers and seeds, and empire.
Reframing objects and cultural symbols, Coakley’s work revises traditional interpretations, encouraging viewers to reconsider social and historical narratives from a different perspective.
Join Kedisha Coakley for a special opportunity to find out about her work, process, and inspiration, and enjoy the experience of handling a selection of her beautiful floral sculptures on Friday, 1 September, at the Millennium Gallery.
