Coming soon to The Millennium Gallery - What A Bee Sees by Grace Visions (2025) 🌸🌼🐝 Inspired by Craig P. Burrows’ ultraviolet photography and research into pollination, this spectacular mural offers a glimpse into the hidden world of flowers as perceived by bees. Unlike humans, bees see ultraviolet, blue and green; missing red entirely but revealing invisible patterns. Many flowers have evolved UV-reflective ‘nectar guides’ that act like glowing bullseyes to help bees locate nectar and pollen. This mural highlights what lies beyond our visible spectrum. While not a literal translation, the work combines the research material with the artist's vision to create an imagined representation of how a bee sees, created as part of the Lick of Paint Festival. 🖼️ See What A Bee Sees at Colour, opening at Millennium Gallery on Thu (19 Jun)!
