β¨ Celebrating South Asian Heritage - a new display at Weston Park Museum featuring stories of South Asian immigrants who came to Sheffield and worked, settled, and built communities here in the 20th century. Plus, six Sheffielders speak about what their South Asian heritage and their homes in Sheffield mean to them. πOn Saturday 3 August, join us at the Millennium Gallery for Performance: Threads of Unity β South Asian Dance, Music and Fashion (3-4.30pm, tickets are free and we advise booking). Youβll see live performances representing eight countries in South Asia, each with different traditions, costumes and movements. Learn about what makes each dance unique, as well as the threads that tie them together. π

π Cultural Adventures Workshop: South Asian Heritage Month on Sat 10 Aug, 12-2pm at Weston Park Museum - Join in hands-on activities including: learn how to drape your traditional sari, see, learn and talk about South Asian spices and pick up some to take away and well-known poet Debjani Chatterjee will share her translations of ghazals, a form of poetry expressing spiritual or romantic love, as well as her own ghazals in English. π
