Please do join us, lovely friends! 👋 Art and Togetherness: LGBTQ+ Collections Drop-in Sun 9 Nov, 12.30pm - 2.30pm Millennium Gallery Join freelance curator Jon Sleigh, this Sunday, to explore LGBTQ+ stories from the city’s collection! Queer histories have always existed, though they’ve sometimes been hidden or misinterpreted. In this informal session, Jon will introduce a range of artworks and objects that reveal how queerness has shaped the city’s collection. You’ll get to take a close look at works such as David Hockney’s Cleanliness is Next to Godliness and Gwen John’s Portrait of Winifred John and discover the LGBTQ+ histories they tell 👀 The session offers a welcoming space for open conversations about identity, representation and LGBTQ+ visibility in art. This is a free, drop in event - everyone is welcome! Please donate if you can and remember that your donation will be doubled at no extra cost to you thanks to our current Double the Donation, Double the Difference campaign 🙌 #sheffieldmuseums #letscreate #creativesheffield #visitsheffield #sheffieldexploringlocal #acefunded #whatsonsheffield @visitsheffield
