Cafes, Restaurants & Pubs to Reopen

From Saturday 4th July, pubs, bars, cafes and restaurants across the country will be opening their doors for the first time since March.

Following the easing of lockdown restrictions, the hospitality sector can now welcome back customers, following the reopening of non-essential shops on June 15th.

As tempting as a cappuccino at your favourite city centre cafe, or Sunday lunch at your local pub may be, it's important to bear safety in mind by following the new restrictions.

What will be different?

As well as customers, staff safety is a priority, and so expect changes to shift patterns to mean that it may take longer to be served. Mandatory table service will also be implemented and hand sanitiser will be available.

In pubs and restaurants, staff will also request customer details to help with contact tracing if a customer tests positive for covid-19. For these reasons, carrying ID is encouraged.
