Facebook post by Hop Hideout Beer Shop

You probably all know by now we love our Belgian beer at Hop Hideout, if you don’t, well this is a reminder! With over 30 in stock in our fridges (and often more on our website) from regular favs including Orval, Trappist singles, dubbels, quadruples, tripels, Lambic, Geuze, saison, oud bruin, Flanders reds, Belgian pales and more. We love the history, heritage, tradition, yet also the idiosyncratic nature, breadth of beer flavours and creativity. There’s tradition but there’s also plenty of folks pushing their own boundaries too, in a good way! Thinking about it, those are many of the reasons why we love the UK beer landscape also. There’s also long-standing mutual respect and inspiration which has gone back and forth across British and Belgian brewers. Anyway, it’s difficult to get all these thoughts across in a social media post, plus you probably want to know about these beers in the picture. 🍺Vedett’s classic #Belgian witbier is back, as a few people have been asking for this style of wheat beer with coriander and orange peel. Can’t beat the refreshment of this style 🍊 🍺A fav of ours Chouffe, with those cheeky gnomes, this time bringing cherries to the party 🍒 Those gnomes know how to throw a good do. 🍺The Flanders red ale classic from Brewery Verhaeghe - Duchesse de Bourgogne has a cherry twist too 🍒🍒 using local sour cherries from the Limburg region, adding to its tart complexities. 🍺 De Dolle Brouwers have been going since the 1980s (started a couple of years before Chouffe) and took inspiration from the brothers’ cycling passion. ‘The Mad Brewers’ 🪄 or in our eyes, magicians, pioneering beer in their own unique way. It’s likely why we love them so much. Kris Herteleer from the brewery is also the talented artist coming up with cartoon characters like Oerbier Man (a little man made from a yeast cell!?!). But let’s be honest there would be no beer without yeast, so the artwork is irreverent genius 🙃 Always playful, always flavourful, always, always, De Dolle. Arabier is their strong, beautifully bitter and hoppy pale, 8%, using whole leaf Nugget from the Poperinge region. Embrace the foam and the little Belgian yeasties 🫶
