We spoke to Paul at Get Wurst below about his plans for 2023 and more in our latest edition of getting to know the vendors! If you’ve not tried them yet why not? (Editors note: they also do a banging vegan bratwurst 😍) When did you launch Get Wurst and what was the inspiration behind it? We launched in 2015 after many trips to Berlin eating Currywurst and the frustration of not being able to get it done properly in the UK, so we decided to do it ourselves! Describe Get Wurst in 5 words or less? Serious German street food! How did the brand idea come about? Just from a love of Currywurst. And when you get it at a christmas market here it isn’t often done justice so we wanted to show people that this is up there with the best of street food when it’s done properly! What’s your mission statement for the rest of 2023? We’re excited to have chicken schnitzel launching back on the menu alongside decadent cheesecake and our very own Get Wurst beer is in the pipeline in collab with a local brewery at Sheffield Plate real soon! What’s your favourite thing on the menu? Currywurst and fries is our bestseller and is the classic German street food you’ll find on the streets of Berlin late into the night. Goes perfectly with a nice beer! We also do a really tasty vegan Currywurst. What plans do you have for the future for Get Wurst? It’s nice to have a permanent base now in the city centre and we’ve got a full calendar full of festivals and events through to the end of the year which is going to keep us busy!
