If you fancy a family trip to the cinema this weekend, look no further than The Light Cinema in Sheffield City Centre. With special family tickets at £3 for family favourites and £5 for new releases, sit back with a warm box of popcorn and enjoy a film on the big screen. If you're feeling peckish afterwards, the cinema complex hosts a variety of popular restaurants including Nando's and Gourmet Burger Kitchen.

National Emergency Services Museum

For a fun, educational family activity in Sheffield City Centre, head over to the National Emergency Services Museum and enjoy over 200 years of emergency services' history.

Interactive exhibitions include a Mountain Rescue climbing wall, full sized lifeboat and Victorian jail cell. The museum also hosts a souvenir giftshop and cafe. For family tickets, visit the website. Free entry for kids under 3 and 999 staff (see website for acceptable ID).

Sheffield Winter Garden

Don't let the cold weather stop you from seeing some greenery, visit the multi-award winning Winter Garden. Featuring over 2,500 plants from around the world and hidden sculptures amongst the foliage, the Winter Garden is a beautiful setting for an indoor picnic, or a visit to the charming Zooby's cafe.

Visitors can also enjoy all exhibitions in Millennium Galleries for free, including the current Viking Exhibition. Located in Sheffield City Centre, the Winter Garden is a stone's throw away from the scenic Peace Gardens (although we advise waiting until warmer weather before a dip in the fountains).
