March marks the return of Sheffield's Festival of The Outdoors, a month-long festival encouraging locals to embrace the outdoors. Although the range of activities take place throughout Sheffield and the Peak District, there's also some exciting events happening right here in the city centre:
A Civilised Place Discovery Walk
Take a walk through history with the A Civilised Place Discovery Walk, a guided discovery trail exploring how engineering has developed the city of Sheffield. The two-mile city centre walk is suitable for all ages and abilities, and accessible for pushchairs and wheelchairs. Assistance dogs only.

Sheffield Pub Heritage Walk
Celebrate Sheffield Beer Week on this short walking tour of some of Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) 'Yorkshire's Real Heritage Pubs' and pubs with architectural interest.

GoodGym Sheffield Runs
"From hanging curtains for Mr H because he can't manage it on his own, to shovelling a tonne of compost for the Food Growers Group so they can grow vegetables - every GoodGym run is different."
GoodGym is hosting four Sheffield runs throughout Festival of The Outdoors. The running group combines exercise with community action, running to litter picking sites, foodbanks and the elderly to lend a helping hand.

Sheffield Adventure Film Festival (SHAFF)
The UK's largest adventure film festival, SHAFF returns this year, with a host of film screenings, inspiring talks and over 30 events and activities. This year's Acts of Rebellion theme promotes sustainability and encourages attendees to seek "adventure with a lighter footprint". Visit the SHAFF website for an itinerary jam-packed with adventure.

Can't wait until SHAFF? Decathlon are running a Cycle to the Cinema event March 18th showing the award-winners for the Best of SHAFF2020 screening. Arrive on a bike to receive a free rear LED. Book early on the Cycle to the Cinema website to avoid disappointment.

Sheffield Half Marathon
Arguably one of the biggest events on Sheffield's outdoor calendar, the Sheffield Half Marathon returns as part of Festival of The Outdoors, South Yorkshire's biggest event of its kind. Last year’s event saw close to 7000 participants take part to raise money for a host of charities. Can you beat last year's winning time of 1 hours 11mins 16secs?
