The late Dave Godin, one of our famous Frog and Parrot incumbents passed twenty years ago. He championed one of the world’s first black record labels - created the brand Tamla Motown, supported the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) and coined the term Northern Soul.
Finally a blue plaque is being installed to recognise his legacy. The blue plaque will be installed at the new pocket music park - a few steps from Dave's radical Anvil cinema. The unveiling will be at 3pm on Sunday 3rd November at Charter Square. It will be followed by drinks here in our intimate venue - where we will be playing some of Dave's music as a tribute . The event will be covered by Echoes and Blues & Soul magazine and others. Please show your support and join the fellowship of Dave's supporters.
