Before opening @hophideout we headed up to view our @leahsyard neighbour @petemckee latest exhibition at Weston Park museum @sheffmuseums (just a 20 min walk from town). ‘A Boy Named Brian’ is a personal exploration from Pete about his childhood. Growing up on a council estate in Sheffield through the ’70s and into the dawning of the ’80s. Ivy met ‘Brian’ and I think they would have enjoyed dancing along together to Pete’s mixtape selection. We got to doodle and try to draw the characters in the interactive ‘draw along’ video area and play
#classicarcade Space Invaders 👾 Loved discovering Pete’s inspirations, his celebration of pubs and seeing the
#Sheffield references. It’s on till November, so get yerself up there and then visit his gallery in
#LeahsYard and have a drink at Hop Hideout after ;)
