Burton Bridge Brewery was founded in 1982 by former Ind Coope brewers Bruce Wilkinson and Geoffrey Mumford. Alongside, they established a small estate of pubs. When Jules used to work in Burton-upon-Trent she always tried to pop into the Burton Bridge Inn and The Devonshire Arms, near her work, to sample their brilliant ales. Both, in the later years, wanted to ‘retire’ and took some years to sell the brewery.
Thankfully The Heritage Brewing Company have taken Burton Bridge Brewery on and this British brewing tradition has been preserved. Sadly Geoff passed away last year and the Mumford Mild beer we have just had delivered pays tribute to his brewing legacy. Let’s raise a glass to GEOFF 🍻
