Offbeat Wines began in 2018 as a creative outlet for Daniel whilst heading up the winemaking at Langham Wine Estate in Dorset; it has since grown into a full-time family operation with partner Nicola. Both marine biologists, having spent time in New Zealand and then studying at Plumpton College. Since the 2020 harvest they’ve been making the wines in their own cellar, just outside Salisbury. Tiny, but growing, and the Offbeat project continues to slowly expand. Continuing to go from strength to strength and proving the real potential of zero-sulphur English wine.
Field Notes 3 is a multi-layered pithy citrus white from blended Pinot Blanc (92%) and Chardonnay (8%) grapes. With lively acidity it’s had a total of 10 months fermentation and ageing in a mixture of used oak barrels, amphora and stainless-steel vat. 10%
