1554 Coffee Shop
📍 Inside Sheffield Cathedral, Church Street
The award-winning 1554 Coffee Shop have been serving up the finest heavenly coffee, good food and a warm welcome since first opening their doors in 2015.
Centrally located in the stunning surroundings of Sheffield Cathedral, 1554 is the perfect escape for those who want coffee, cake, lunch or just a quiet place to meet with friends.

2323 Coffee
2323 is a multi-roaster coffee bar located on Norfolk Row, close to Tudor Square, the Crucible and Winter Garden.
As well as their delicious coffees, look out for their distinctive cups created by Frizbee Ceramics.

Albie's
Slightly tucked away from the city centre hustle and bustle, Albie’s is the perfect place for a catch-up with friends over lunch.
Open weekdays only.

Ambulo
📍 Arundel Gate, inside Millennium Gallery
Ambulo is an all day café for all the family, inspired by travel, culture and the best produce from near and far.
The Millennium Gallery site is the perfect light and bright spot for visitors to the gallery with it’s rolling program of art exhibitions from renowned local and national artists.

Birdhouse Tea Bar & Kitchen
The welcoming Birdhouse Tea Bar & Kitchen is light and airy, with plenty of seating across two levels as well as in their outdoor courtyard.
Birdhouse is located in the heart of Sheffield’s Cultural Industrial Quarter, around five minutes walk from Sheffield Station.

Builder's Brew Cafe
Imagine a cafe where you get to play with LEGO® while you enjoy a drink...and a bite to eat.

The Cabin
A firm favourite for those who like to indulge in pancakes, waffles and coffee.
The Cabin made the epic move three doors down in the summer of 2022 to their new premises on Fitzwilliam Street.
They've continued to serve up their famous waffles and pancake stacks (check out their Instagram to see them for yourself) alongside an ever great cup of coffee.

Caffe Massarella
This chic cafe on the ground floor of Atkinsons, the city centre's independent department store, boasts a large outside seating area and is the ideal place for a cappuccino, panini or one of their fabulous cakes or sweet treats.

Caffe Tucci
The award-winning Caffe Tucci has become a very popular place to visit and watch the world go by since brothers Stefano and Salvatore first opened their doors in January 2022.
If you’re after some super tasty 'Neapolitan-inspired fare', then this friendly, family-run café brings the true taste of Naples to Sheffield city centre.
Caffe Tucci was voted Best Cafe in 2024, 2025 and 2026 at the Exposed Awards.

Cambridge Street Collective
Locale Coffee is based on the ground level of award-winning Cambridge Street Collective, Europe's largest purpose built food hall.
Cambridge Street Collective is a ‘one of a kind’ foodie destination to meet, eat, and share in Sheffield, hosting an exciting array of more than 20 inspiring world food vendors from around the globe.

The Chocolate Bar
📍Leah's Yard, Cambridge Street
Located in Sheffield's hottest development, Leah's Yard, this converted polishing factory is now home some of the cities most exciting makers.
Chocolate Bar is an all day cafe bar specialising in craft chocolate and everything that pairs with it.
An ever-popular venue, Chocolate Bar don't accept bookings. They're walk-in only with indoor and outdoor tables available on a first come, first serve basis. But they do operate a takeaway service so head to nearby Pound's Park if you fancy drinking alfresco.

Chakra Lounge
A lovely, welcoming spot on Fitzalan Square, the Chakra Lounge is an Indian-British cafe with a big heart.
Drink options include rose and cardamom milkshake, masala chai mojito, and bulletproof coffee (coffee with butter and coconut oil).
The majority of their menu is veggie or vegan. Highlights include breakfast wraps made with Indian flatbread, bhel puri, a brightly coloured vegan burger, and channa chaat salad.
Coffee Lab
From single-origin V60 pour-overs to handmade chocolates and Middle Eastern specialties — every cup, every plate, is crafted for your unique taste at Coffee Lab.

Copper Pot Cafe
Copper Pot is located on the ever-popular Division Street, home to some of the city centre’s most famous and iconic hospitality venues.
As with a number of venues on Division Street, Copper Pot benefits from an outdoor seating area for customers.

Couch
Situated in one of Sheffield’s most vibrant areas, Couch is great for breakfast or lunch thanks to its range of hearty meals and delicious drinks.

Crucible Kitchen
📍 Crucible Theatre, Norfolk Street
Crucible Kitchen, located in the bottom foyer of the Crucible Theatre, opened at the beginning of September 2022.
They serve coffee by Sheffield’s premium roaster Cafeology, light and delicious lunches plus cakes by local suppliers.
With several high-profile theatre shows and home of the World Snooker Championship, the people-watching opportunities at Crucible Kitchen are unrivaled.

Drop Bear Coffee
Drop Bear Coffee is an Australian-inspired café located on Howard Street inside the Strines Building on the Sheffield Hallam University campus.
Drop Bear is one of the latest additions to Sheffield city centre's flourishing coffee scene having first opened their doors in February 2026.

Forum Sheffield
Forum Sheffield serve up a lovely brunch menu - daily from 9am - featuring fantastic coffee from Dark Woods Coffee, delicious teas from the Birdhouse Tea Company and fresh baked goods from Forge Bakehouse.
Frazer's Coffee Roasters
Frazer's is an artisan coffee roaster based in Sheffield, focusing on good quality coffee freshly roasted from around the world.
Founded back in 2014, Frazers has always been about doing coffee properly - sourcing beans ethically, travelling to meet the farmers behind them, and roasting everything in Sheffield.
So when you grab a coffee here, you’re not just getting one of the best brews in the city - you’re also supporting fairtrade and a business that genuinely cares about where their coffee comes from.

Front Room at The Hide
Front Room at The Hide is a cosy daytime coffee and lunch hang-out.
Newly refurbished with comfy seating, soft lighting and a laidback atmosphere to take time out and slow down.

Gaard 2 Coffee Hide
📍 Fitzwilliam Street, West One Plaza
Gaard is a dog-friendly vegan cafe.
They brew up delicious Foundation Coffee and loose leaf Suki teas, and stocks a great range of sandwiches and pastries.
You don’t need to be vegan to love Gaard 💖
Grão Brazil Cafe
Grão Brazil Cafe, located at Pounds Park, is one of the newest additions to Sheffield city centre's thriving cafe culture scene.
Enjoy their lovely coffee with a deliciious Brazilian snack including Chicken Coxinhas, Beef Coxinhas, Kibbeh, Brazilian Cheese Bread and much more 🇧🇷

Hygge
📍 Fitzalan Square📍 Eyre Street 📍 Pound's Park
With three venues across the city centre, you're never far from your next Hygge experience.
For people specifically looking for a coffee spot to co-work in the city centre, Hygge in Fitzalan Square or in their second site on Eyre Street, are definitely a 'go to' place.
Hanging bubble chairs and grassed areas bring a fun modern vibe while their speciality coffee provides that vital energy boost.
Meanwhile the Hygge in Pound's Park offers an unrivaled city centre coffee experience, a stone's throw from the majestic Reverie.

Kollective Coffee and Kitchen
Kollective's fresh food and cake has a great reputation, and it’s a funky place to experiment with a matcha latte or nitro cold brew.
Whatever the order, the cafe’s base at Site Gallery means customers can easily combine art with a quality cortado.

Lemon Town Cafe
A popular cafe located on the edge of Barker's Pool, close to Sheffield City Hall, offers a lovely little spot for a casual meal or coffee break.
Known for their delicious food and excellent beverages, Lemon Town has quickly become a local favourite.

LM8 Waterside Coffeehouse
📍 Arch 16, Victoria Quays
Nestled between Sheffield’s steel heritage and thriving business district, LM8 sits under the arches at Victoria Quays — neighbouring vibrant Kelham Island and the evolving Castlegate Quarter — offering a unique spot by the water’s edge.

Marmadukes
📍 Norfolk Row 📍 Cambridge Street
Nestled in the heart of the city, close to Sheffield Theatres' venues Crucible, Lyceum, Montgomery and Playhouse, the original Marmadukes on Norfolk Row makes the perfect lunch location.
Be sure to take in the beautiful rustic interior while enjoying their delicious deli sandwiches and salads, rich coffee and cakes.
Marmadukes' second city centre location, on Cambridge Street, offers all the superb drinks and dishes people have come to love from Marmadukes, but in the more airy and modern setting of the Heart of the City development.

May's Coffee and Tea
May's Coffee and Tea offers a chilled haven focusing on speciality coffee and Asian-inspired delights.
Owner Calvin, who hails from Hong Kong, has created a space that celebrates both quality and community.
The café’s menu reflects its roots, with a subtle Asian twist.

Motore Cafe
Motore Cafe have been serving the good people of Sheffield for over a decade from their mobile, pop-up coffee unit.
You'll find them just out side the main entrance serving up fantastic coffees (and a few sweet treats) everyday between 7am and 2:30pm.

Mow’s Coffee
The laid-back hangout opened in September 2020 and became known for serving takeaway coffee through a hatch which was part of the historic Sellers Wheel building.
The coffee (including house blend by Darkwoods of Yorkshire) takes centre stage and means Mow’s is recommended by many coffee buffs.

South Street Kitchen
If a stunning view with your frothy latte is desired, the sustainability focused South Street Kitchen located at the Brutalist icon Park Hill flats delivers the goods. The large open windows and outdoor seating provide an inspirational vista, especially at sunset.
From those windows you can see the heart of Sheffield city centre whilst you sip on your delicious hand-crafted brew.

Steam Yard
📍 Aberdeen Court, Division Street
Located on one of Sheffield’s most adored and liveliest streets, Steam Yard (which first opened their doors in 2014) has a cool atmosphere and a great outdoor seating area.
Steam Yard is regarded as one of the best beverage places in town thanks to the high quality of its coffees and the scrumptiousness of its baked goods.

Tamper
Just a few steps away from Mow’s on Arundel Street, is grandaddy of the scene Tamper, one of the best-known cafes in Sheffield.
New Zealand inspired and famed for its insanely good brunch menu, the house coffee is tailored to a Tamper recipe, with beans roasted by Kiwi brand Ozone.

Union St
Union St provides four floors of independent workspace 'chock-full of co-op spirit.'
Their ground-floor café is the beating heart of Union St and every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday they serve up some of the best street food the city has to offer.
Union St is managed by the Co-Working Co-operative CIC, a community interest company whose profits are reinvested into developing the facilities and activities our city needs.

Zooby's
Located inside the city centre's fabulous Winter Garden, Zooby's is a 'one of a kind' location for enjoying your next coffee.
Whilst Sheffield city centre is fast becoming known for it's flourishing independent coffee scene, you're never too far from a high street favourite.

The Light Cinema

One of The Moor's most popular destinations, The Light cinema opened in April 2017.
It offers an exciting cinema experience featuring state of the art facilities, comfortable seating, showing the latest releases as well as live sporting events.
And of course, they serve up an excellent range of drinks to go alongside the latest blockbuster.

Marks & Spencer Cafe
📍 Fargate
No feature on cafes and coffee shops would be complete without including the cafe at M&S on Fargate in Sheffield city centre.
After all, this is not just any cafe, this is an M&S cafe.

Showroom Cinema Cafe Bar
Located off Sheaf Street in a historic 1930s Art Deco building, Showroom Cinema is Sheffield's leading independent cinema showing handpicked films and events in the heart of the city.
It also features its own dedicated cafe bar, serving up a whole host of delicious food...and coffee of course!

Waterstones Cafe
The Waterstones cafe, on the top floor of their Orchard Square store, is well worth checking out.
It's a lovely little cafe which can get very busy at times, but the team are always on hand to great you with a warm welcome and possibly one or two tips on the latest 'must buy' book.
