Founded in 1872, Egginton has built a respected place in the global cutlery market through the design and manufacture of high-quality Sheffield-made sharpening steels.

For more than 150 years, we have focused on one thing and done it well: knife sharpening. 

Our steels are trusted by some of the world’s best chefs, as well as anyone who values a truly sharp edge. Each piece is made with care, from the blade itself to the fittings in steel, nickel silver or brass. To finish, we use carefully chosen natural materials for handles and detailing, adding both balance and quiet beauty to tools made to be used and relied upon.
