About us

Previously called The Fountain, after the nearby Fountain Precinct, The Bessemer reopened with a new name in late 2009 after an extensive refit. The Bessemer is named after Henry Bessemer, who was an inventor and became an integral figure in Sheffield's steel industry after moving to the city in 1858.

Today this friendly venue it is part of the Stonegate Pub Company offering delicious food, great drinks and unforgettable experiences.

The Bessemer has a large main bar with many cosy and comfortable areas to sit in. It also has a mezzanine floor with its own bar for private functions. Relax in one of our comfortable sofas or secluded booths, or enjoy the party atmosphere coming into the weekend with a range of drinks offers.
