Whether it's a quick introduction, or something more entertaining, you can learn all about Sheffield past and present, the architecture, heritage and culture as well as seeing for yourself just how cycling-friendly Sheffield is becoming.

Sheffield Cycle Tours has three tours to choose from:

1. Welcome to Sheffield Tour

  • Perfect for newcomers to Sheffield, the Welcome to Sheffield Tour provides a 'whistle stop tour of some of the city's most famous parks and landmarks.' It's perfect if you want to learn more about Sheffield culture as well as how to get around the city by bike. 

2. History Tour

  • For those who wish to learn more about Sheffield. You may know something about the city's most famous buildings, but do you know the stories behind them? For instance, where did the Peace Gardens get its name? What was so special about Park Hill flats? Why are United and Wednesday rivals? 

3. Suffragette Tour

  • In 1851 the Sheffield Women’s Political Association was formed not far from Sheffield Cathedral. This was the first women's suffrage organisation in the UK and the birth of the movement. It started with a sternly worded letter to the House of Lords; escalated to riots and postbox bombings and finally ended nearly 80 years later with women earning full voting rights. 

  • This history tour focusses on the events that took place in Sheffield and how it helped the national movement to improve women's rights.

Each Sheffield Cycle Tours route takes between 2-3 hours, with routes varying in length from around 3.6 miles through to approximately 10 miles. 

Bike hire 🚲

  • If you don't have access to a bicycle, optional bike hire can be provided by Russell's Bicycle Shed from around £15. 

Tour prices 💷

  • £15 per rider (16+)

  • £10 per child (12 to 15)

  • £30 - £45 to ride in the Sheffield Cycle Tours cargo bike.
