Christmas lights

It’s impossible not to enter into the festive spirit when the city’s adorned with Christmas lights.

Sheffield will turn up the festive vibes at the Christmas Lights Switch On event taking place across the city centre on Sunday, 21 November.

This year’s event is a little different from previous years as it's a dual switch on from the Town Hall Square and Barkers Pool. Plenty of entertainment is planned including street entertainers like Inca the giant animated polar bear, kid’s tv and film costume characters, balloon modelling, stars from Sheffield Theatres panto, storytelling and craft activities, fairground rides and some festive music!

The Christmas market, Santa's grotto, the Big Wheel and the festive bars will also all be open for you to enjoy wandering around and soaking up the festive atmosphere

For those joining in the big countdown, the illuminations will be switched on at 5.30pm  3… 2… 1...
