With the clocks finally 'springing forward', we officially welcome British Summer Time 🥳 And, whilst there may still be a bit of a chill in the air, there is plenty to warm us all up as we look forward to Easter and the half term holidays.

There's plenty of fun going on over the Easter and half-term period, with a number of city centre favourites getting involved in all the action. There are fun and free treasure hunts thanks to Atkinsons, Sheffield Cathedral and Waterstones and there's also the grand opening of a new city centre park, Pound's Park.

Sheffield’s new city centre park is set to open to the public in time for the extended Easter weekend!
Pound’s Park – named after Sheffield's first Chief Fire Officer, Superintendent John Charles Pound – opens on Monday 3rd April.
Located on the former fire station site between Rockingham Street, Wellington Street and Carver Street, Pound's Park offers a 'multitude of experiences, including spaces for play, relaxation and socialising'. Pound’s Park features 'a three-by-eight-metre climbing boulder, reminiscent of a Peak District rockface, and a significant new children’s playground'.
So, what are you waiting for? Pound's Park has to be at the very top of your 'to do' list this Easter!

Treasure Trails 🏴☠️

Treasure Trails are self-guided routes that take you through the winding backstreets and hidden corners of villages, towns and cities around the UK. Crack the clues along the route while following a fun, immersive backstory and solve the mystery at the end. Treasure Trails usually take a couple of hours and they're a great way to get exploring!
There are TWO Treasure Trails that you can follow in Sheffield city centre.
- Sheffield: Heart of the City – Starting from Sheffield Station, this 'treasure quest' themed-mission, will take you through the very heart of Sheffield city centre. You will explore the wonders of the tropical Winter Garden, marvel at the amazing architecture of iconic buildings and uncover twisting tales from the past along the way.
- Sheffield: City of Industry – In this 'spy-themed' trail, your mission is to stop the evil Dr Stayne Less from releasing his elaborate device which will cause all pieces of cutlery within a 10-mile radius to become very bendy from causing havoc. Starting from Sheffield Cathedral, it's your mission to crack the clues to reveal the deactivation code before it's too late!

🎬 Curzon Sheffield: you'll find the Curzon nestled away on George Street, between High Street and Norfolk Row. Located in a Grade II listed building, it has three screens and its very own rooftop bar!
🎬 Light Sheffield: located on The Moor, Light Sheffield is one of 11 Light cinemas across the UK. The Light has 9 screens with over 900 seats.
🎬 ODEON Luxe: ODEON have been on Arundel Gate since March 1992. Refurbished in 2018, this city centre cinema features a bar, cafe, high tech sound systems and reclining seats. ODEON Luxe has 10 screens.
🎬 Showroom Cinema: Located off Sheaf Street in a historic 1930's Art Deco building, the Showroom is Sheffield's only independently programmed cinema and one of the largest independent cinemas in Europe. First opened as a two screen cinema, the Showroom now has four screens.
Starting from Friday 31st March, Showroom Cinema is celebrating the Easter holidays with a mini-season of films featuring extraordinary creatures and animated features for all ages to enjoy. With princesses, puppets, an enthusiastic little shell and the most famous superpowered alien, they have something for every imagination. The Showroom also serve a children’s menu every Saturday and daily during school holidays.
