MAKE A MUSICAL HALF TERM WEEK: 16 - 21 FEBRUARY 2026 Thinking ahead to 2026? Wondering what's out there for the young people in your life to do during February 2026 half term holidays. Look no further.... Taking place at Sheffield’s famous Library Theatre, over six days (Monday to Saturday), and open to anyone aged 7-17 years. Our "Make a Musical" performance week will see participants create their own original musical using current, popular mainstream songs - think Dua Lipa, Sabrina Carpenter, Billie Eillish, Ariana Grande, Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, Shawn Mendes and more. Attendees will use the songs to inspire and build their own storyline, devise the scenes, and create the choreography. Putting it all together into a live performance for friends and family at the end of the week. Taught by a host of talented performance industry professionals, our ‘show in a week’ concept is back with a bang, and is set to be our most exciting one yet. Open to both Carney and none Carney students, with applications from young people across the local community welcome. Booking early is advised to avoid disappointment. We’ll be spending the next few weeks gearing our stocks back up, plus we’ve some exciting events to announce for Sheffield Beer Week (6-15th March) and Indie Beer Feast (6-7th March) 🎉 Back in stock we have Queer Brewing with a focus on #alcoholfree Brewing with quality ingredients and intention, “because everyone deserves to feel welcome in beer spaces - including sober folks” 👏👏👏
Before Christmas we met up with rider owned Sheffield co-op bicycle couriers @feral_express 🚲 Over the years we used to offer our own local delivery service but with life, work burnout and motherhood along the way we had to stop a couple of years ago. We know how popular it was and we’ve always wanted somehow to bring the option back to you. Well, the lovey folk at Feral Express can possibly do a weekly delivery for us at Hop Hideout 🎉 We really align with their values too - with their focus on sustainable transport and ethical business. We’re currently just working things out but wanted to put the feelers out…. Would you like a local Sheffield Hop Hideout delivery option back available…? Leave us comments below now and let us know please 🙏
We just reopened our Hop Hideout doors on Saturday 10th January and it was brilliant to see so many of you pass by. We’ll be doing lots of restocking next week, so don’t worry! We did however pop #onthetaps this amazing mixed fermentation, nectarine wild ale from @crossoverblendery 🍑 “Crossover Blendery is located at Lannock Manor Farm in rural North Hertfordshire, UK. A beautiful, quiet place surrounded by rolling arable fields and small pockets of pasture. Founded by George and Charlie in 2018, Crossover Blendery is focussed on producing complex beers which challenge and intrigue the drinker. The beers age in old French oak barrels for many years. And the fermentations are spontaneous, meaning it is only wild yeast and bacteria which operate in these ales.” 🍺 Persia is a blend of 1, 2 and 3 year old golden ales brewed with malted barley and raw wheat. Spontaneously fermented and matured in neutral French oak barrels. Then refermented on Diamond Bright nectarines grown in Kent, UK. It’s tart, with juicy peach, citrus and earthy funk notes. Deliciously complex! This January we’re having a focus on breweries with a passion for mixed fermentation beers aka Mixed Fermanuary 🎉 Come by and discover something new, or support breweries and beers you already love 🙏❤️ Mixed Fermentation is a brewing process using multiple microorganisms think e.g. yeast plus bacteria or brewer’s yeast plus wild yeast or a mix of naturally occurring wild microorganisms. Creating unique and complex flavours. Microbes often involved include strains of Saccharomyces (brewer’s yeast), Brettanomyces (wild yeast),Lactobacillus (lactic acid bacteria), and Pediococcus (lactic acid bacteria). If you want to get really in-depth we recommend these places for starters ➡️ @milk_the_funk_podcast Wiki @brewyourownmag The Sour Hour podcast on @brewingnetwork Various articles on @pelliclemag 📚 UK Breweries specialising in mixed ferm beers include Crossover Blendery, Burning Sky, Mills, Sobremesa, Wilderness, The Kernel, Holy Goat, Balance Brewing & Blending, Pastore, Torrside, Saint Mars of the Desert, Abbeydale, Fyne Origins Brewing, Siren, and Cloudwater, amongst others.
