Only a couple of days left of 2025. Rather than making them memorable, you should probably just chuck the kettle on, and settle in front of whatever TV can be bothered to roll out, before they showcase new shows they actually care about in 2026. 😞 Orrrrrr, squeeze the last few drops of 'awesome' out of this year. And that's what we're here for. See you later then? 🙌 *Re the pic, they're not throwing gang signs, but they thought we said "show us what you're here FOUR". We did not.🤦♀️
After her appearance at The Sheffield festival of reggae 2025, Sylvia Tella returns to Network by popular demand! Joined by her full band & guest Reuben Irie, you won’t want to miss this special Valentines day performance. 💌 Legendary lovers rock / R&B singer Sylvia Tella initially found success as a vocalist for the group Boney M. The group performed various numbers over a pseudo-reggae beat, including the record-breaking version of the Melodians’ classic ‘Rivers Of Babylon’, a reworking of the Jamaican playground song ‘Brown Girl In The Ring’ and Bob Marley’s ‘No Woman No Cry’. In the late 80s she made a big impact on the reggae chart with her classic hit, ‘Spell’. 1988’s Hurricane Gilbert inspired a fund-raising charity record featuring a number of pop and reggae musicians under the guise of Windjammer, and included Tella’s lead vocals. Tella also joined The Blow Monkeys with the release of ‘Choice’, which peaked at number 22 on the UK Top 30 in the summer of 1989. In 1996 she returned with a vengeance on a four-track discomix with Vivian Jones, ‘Nu Chat To Me’, ‘Sometimes Love’, ‘Jah Bless Love’ and ‘Feelings’, and her solo hit, ‘Mother Nature’. Her popularity was further enhanced by the success of her solo hits ‘Searching For The One’ and ‘Happy Home’. Another duet, ‘Sweet As Honey’, featured Leroy ‘Mafia’ Heywood, who has pursued an outstanding career with his brother as Mafia And Fluxy. Plus the release of massive underground anthem ‘Special Way, in 1997. In November 1996 Tella featured in a concert commemorating 28 years of reggae, alongside Jah Woosh, Junior Delgado, Horace Andy, Earl Sixteen, Tyrone Taylor, Winston Reedy and Top Cat. In 1997 she joined Saint And Campbell on a global tour, appeared at London’s Notting Hill Carnival alongside Beenie Man and the Main Street Crew, and was voted Best Female Performer at the People’s Choice Awards, as well as being nominated for Best British Reggae Artist at the MOBO awards. 📅 Saturday 14th Feb 2026 🕑 8pm - 12am 📍 Network 2, Sheffield 🎟️ Tickets: https://fatso.ma/2HKy

KAPITAL WRAPPED 2025 ❤️🤩📊 Before the year’s out, we just want to say this properly… You drank an incredible number of pints 🍻 You ate a truly heroic amount of bratwursts 🌭 You *BORROWED* one too many Kwak glasses (we’re still grieving, by the way) 👀😂 And yes - all of this happened in just 6 months 😳😂 But more than anything - you showed up. Weekends and midweeks. First dates and big groups. Quiet pints, Christmas knees-ups, and “just one” that definitely wasn’t (that tank Budvar is dangerously good - we know 😅). Opening Kapital this year has been one helluva leap, and the support you’ve shown has honestly blown us away. Thank you Sheffield, for backing us from day one - we are SO grateful. 🫶💛 Now let’s finish it properly… NYE knees-up pending 🪩🕺🥂🍺 - #kapitalsheffield #sheffieldfood #sheffieldfoodie #sheffieldbusiness heartofthecit
