These absolute champions consider themselves some of Sunday's biggest fans. They travel around the world to support Sundays! WeCompose was born to empower schools to approach composition with confidence, flair and creativity, benefitting students and teachers long after the project finishes. During 2024/25, WeCompose reached into the lives of hundreds of young people across the country: - 34 schools took part - 830 young people participated - 377 brand new pieces of music created However, music is continuing to disappear from UK state schools: - 42% of state schools don’t offer GCSE Music. (Source: House of Lords Library) - A-Level Music entries continue to decline. (Source: ISM) - Music teacher numbers are falling fast - nearly 600 fewer than in 2011. (Hansard) - Music teacher numbers are falling fast. (Source: Hansard) For many children, especially in under-resourced areas, school might be their only chance to experience live music. Many children never get a chance to play, compose or perform. WeCompose is trying to change that and with your help we can bring it to primary schools for the first time.
