TODAY: The “top-notch” (AllMusic) Consone Quartet has won numerous illustrious prizes, was the first period instrument quartet to be selected as BBC New Generation Artists and is rapidly building a following as Music in the Round’s Visiting Quartet. This promises to be a captivating programme of music including Clara Schumann’s ‘Three Romances’ in a lush string quartet arrangement. Mozart’s striking ‘Dissonance’ Quartet, with its innovative opening, unfolds into the composer’s signature elegance and vitality.
