A selection of highlights to look forward to in 2026 as we welcome another packed events programme to Sheffield city centre.

From food and music festivals to special exhibitions, celebrations and live performances, there's something for everyone.

January 2026

There's a free city centre skating experience to enjoy in January as the city welcomes the ISU European Figure Skating Championships. 

January also brings a flurry of new touring shows to Sheffield's wonderful Lyceum Theatre including The Rocky Horror Show, Top Hat and To Kill a Mockingbird.

ISU European Figure Skating Championships Sheffield Fan Zone ⛸️
Saturday 10 to Sunday 18 January 2026
ℹ️ Sheffield city centre welcomes a vibrant Fan Zone – complete with a free to use artificial ice rink – set up in celebration of the ISU European Figure Skating Championships Sheffield 2026. The Fan Zone will also feature a big screen broadcasting live competition coverage from Sheffield Arena as well as food stalls and entertainment.

New Horizons: Growing Sheffield's Art Collection 🖼️

The world's top 16 players will be joined by 16 qualifiers for the return of the World Snooker Championship to the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield in April.

Can Zhao Xintong retain his title? History is very much against him as no first-time champion has retained the title since the tournament moved to the Crucible way back in 1977.
